Dr. Kumar Gurung is a distinguished entrepreneur, academician, and influential social leader. Born in Bhutan, raised in Nepal, educated in India, and resettled in the United States over 17 years ago, he earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration in 2022. As a multilingual leader fluent in Nepali, English, Hindi, and some Dzongkha, Dr. Gurung has made a profound impact on his families, communities, and beyond.

He leads several successful enterprises, including Gurung Brothers Real Estate, American Skyline Investment Group, UNHCR – Nebraska Agency for Chore Services, TOKMA Corporation, International Investment Corporation (IIC), Great Events Center, and other ventures that contribute significantly to the US economy, commerce, and finance.

Dr. Gurung combines modern leadership and business insight with a commitment to social impact. He has served as an Investor, CEO, and Owner of multiple companies, and previously worked for eight years for the Omaha Public Schools District. His leadership extends to humanitarian efforts, including serving as a Case Manager at Lutheran Family, a Refugee Resettlement Agency.

Passionate Achiever

Dr. Gurung's personal passions include driving, photography, video editing, and music. He began his musical journey as a lyricist and composer with his 1998 album Buddha Sandesh.

Academic Honors

Among his academic honors are the "New Millennium Star" award for exceptional academic achievement in India and the prestigious "Presidential Member" honor by the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS).

Academic & Spiritual Excellence

He holds an LLB (India), a Master of Science in Leadership (USA), and a Master's Certificate in Executive Coaching (USA). A recognized Buddhist Spiritual Master, he is honored as Venerable Lama by Khen Rinpoche Nyima Dondrup. His social leadership roles include former Chairperson of the Omaha Refugee Task Force (ORTF), former President of the Bhutanese Community of Nebraska, and Advisor/Trustee to organizations such as BCN, BSN Inc., OBCA, BAMA, GBLO & GBO.

Currently, he serves as Chairman & CEO of the Triratna Foundation and President of the International Council of Gurung Buddhism, both nonprofit organizations based in Nebraska. He is also the author of the Basic English Language Course, published in Nepal in 2008, and a dedicated researcher.

Ms. Rai ensures compliance with regulatory standards, evaluates financial risks, and develops strategic plans to optimize profitability and growth. She supervises the finance team, manages investments, and provides insights to inform executive leadership's decision-making.
