Venerable Dr. Kumar Gurung, a prominent leader, entrepreneur, and spiritual figure in the Nepali-speaking Bhutanese community, received the Lifetime Legacy and Leadership Award 2026 at the Bhutanese Joint Annual Convention held in Omaha, Nebraska. The honor, jointly presented by five Bhutanese American organizations, recognized his contributions to education, spirituality, entrepreneurship, humanitarian service, and cultural preservation. Senior leader Dr. Narad Pokhrel was also honored at the same event.
